Due to a "State-of-the-art" grading system, Fibracell reeds are now offered in 10 Strengths (as depicted in the graph below): Soft - 1 & 1½, Medium Soft - 2 & 2½, Medium - 3 & 3½, Medium Hard - 4 & 4½, Hard - 5 & 5½
 

Tips for reed selection

We recommend that you do not sand the reed or clip the tip.  For an easier playing reed, simply buy a softer strength.  

For a larger mouthpiece opening, use a softer reed.

Experiment with different ligatures and mouthpieces to find the best combination for you.

Move the reed up or down slightly on the mouthpiece to find the place that "sounds and feels"  the best.
